All versions prior to 3.0.10 enable "sendfile" support by default on the server-side. sendfile interfaces with a smbfs kernel interface on the client-side which has a security vulnerability. There is a patch for this security vulnerability which breaks samba (typical!) if sendfile is turned on (the default). Please mark 3.0.10 as stable, since it now disables sendfile by default, and is one step closer to getting us out of this mess. This should be done before the 2005.0 snapshot date if at all possible. Thanks.
3.0.10 is in production for me since before Christmas, so it is quite tested. Adding arches to this bug.
