During emerge of the package 'dev-util/cvs-1.11.18' the following error message was shown: >>> md5 src_uri ;-) cvs-1.11.18.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) cederqvist-1.11.18.html.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) cederqvist-1.11.18.pdf !!! Actual Results: digest verification of file '/usr/portage/distfiles/cederqvist-1.11.18.ps' fails.
Did you check, if the file is valid? please do `rm /usr/portage/distfiles/cederqvist-1.11.18.ps` and try to fetch it again
I removed the mentioned file and emerged again 'cvs'. The files was again fetched and the digest info of the file is the same as before.
Did you try to fetch from another mirror with the second try? rainer@scandium ~ $ md5sum cederqvist-1.11.18.ps 6a6e02aafee9387ee2558ca47d26b6a7 cederqvist-1.11.18.ps That's from Gentoo's master mirror and cvshome.org. Remove the file from /usr/portage/distfiles/ and try another mirror. What what the mirror you used, so our mirror admins can fix that?
Sorry for the late reply, but in the meantime I was at home. Here is the 'emerge info' output from the affected server: ================================================================ Portage 2.0.51-r3 (default-linux/x86/2004.0, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.5.3 distcc 2.13 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r5 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 Binutils: sys-devel/binutils-2.15.90.0.1.1-r3 Headers: sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.4.21-r1 Libtools: sys-devel/libtool-1.5.2-r7 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distcc distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://135.246.33.15/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X X509 acl apache2 apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts crypt cups doc emacs encode esd fam flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 imagemagick ipv6 java jpeg kde libwww mad mikmod motif mozilla mpeg mysql ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl php png python qt quicktime readline sdl spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype xml2 xmms xv zlib" ============================================================================== As you can see I am using the mirror 'ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo', which is the same I am using at home where I do NOT see the problem. I also manually checked the file contents on the mirror and could not find any differences to the data in the digest after an 'emerge sync'. The major difference on the affected server is a proxy server. Since it seems to be a problem with our proxy, I will set this ticket to 'INVALID'.
