shadow-4.0.5 is outdated and must be downloaded manually.

Fix:

cd /distfiles
wget ftp://ftp.pld.org.pl/software/shadow/old/shadow-4.0.5.tar.bz2


This must then be updated due to security issues after completing stage2.

Could you be a bit more verbose in your description of the problem?

As I understand it, your complaint is that a version of software on a past release is older than the current version?
