Description Bjarke Istrup Pedersen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-10 11:01:26 UTC
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:791:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p failed: Device
or resource busy
error opening alsa device: Unknown error 4294967280
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x2b47)!

This comes up when I try to play something in XMMS using ALSA.
Sound works many other places, but I don't know if it's ALSA or ARTS they use.

What sound card do you have? Maybe some other program (like some sound daemon)
already has the sound device open; the programs that play sound may be the
programs that use that sound service.

Just a shot in the dark. Please provide more information.

Closing for lack of feedback.

Also think the problems was me configuring ALSA wrong, since my last
reinstall, it has been working flawlessly
