Description Katze 2021-02-25 07:22:25 UTC
The attachments contain build output and whatnot, build output looks pretty much like this upstream bug though: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/3875 which was marked a duplicate of https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/3873

The latter bug mentions it should be fixed with meson >=0.56.0 but I'm running 0.56.2 as far as I can see.

To me it looks like either the next release candidate would fix this, or that something about the meson call needs changing (i.e. -Dmicrosoft-clc=disable), but I don't have time to look further into this right now.

This is perfectly reproducible on my current setup, though at the moment I'm still running world updates with mesa-21.0.0 masked (which compiles just fine) after the display-manager-init change, I'll report back after all my updates are done to confirm whether this is still the case with updated world.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge media-libs/mesa-21.0.0_rc5 with use-flags from Additional Information
Actual Results:
Compilation aborts in configure phase because it cannot find clang (which is installed though).

Expected Results:
Compilation proceeds.

Comment 2 Katze 2021-02-25 15:38:00 UTC
Created attachment 688371 [details]
updated emerge output for mesa only, with current @world

Seems after the @world update it's still the same.
Next I'll try adding the mentioned option to a local version of the ebuild to see if the upstream issues were right about how to fix this.
Comment 3 Katze 2021-02-25 15:51:23 UTC
When I add `-Dmicrosoft-clc=disabled` (without backticks) to emesonargs¹ (after line 512 for example) then it passes the step that failed previously² and yields the error from https://bugs.gentoo.org/771759³.

IUSE=egl is gone. EGL is now alwasy enabled. I think this is fixed?
