Description Chris 2005-01-09 14:46:18 UTC
the package cannot be easily emerged becuase the -* or ~amd64 keyword is gone. The workaround is to accept x86 as the keyword. the solution would be to add -* to the ebuild's keywords.

btw, the demos seem fine on amd64.

Reproducible: Always

huh?
Comment 2 Simon Stelling (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-10 04:16:36 UTC
sorry, what do you want to tell us? does it work or not?
Comment 3 Chris 2005-01-10 18:30:08 UTC
The ebuild has left off -* and ~amd64 from the keywords.

this makes it impossible for someone with an amd64 to emerge it, unless they use the keyword "x86" for the emerge (package.keywords preferred).

the proposed solution is to change the ebuild's keywords lines to:
"-* x86 ~sparc ~amd64"

In short no, it does not work without a workaround.

ok, so this is just a keywording request. i still don't get why you want a -* but i think i know what you want ;)
to avoid such missunderstandings it would probably be good if you have a look at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/amd64/technotes.xml?part=1&chap=3
this really helps us to keep effort as low as possible
