Description Waldo 2005-01-08 17:00:06 UTC
I did:

emerge sync
emerge --update --deep --newuse --pretend world

Error:

!!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=gnome-base/libgtop-2.8" have been masked.
!!!! one of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- gnome/base/libgtop-2.8.0 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword)
- gnome/base/libgtop-2.8.1 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword)
- gnome/base/libgtop-2.8.2 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword)

Then it says the dependency is required by "gnome-base/gnome-applets-2.8.1.1" [ebuild].

It wraps it all up by saying there is a problem with ebuild gnome-base/gnome-2.6.2-r1
possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

Depgraph creation failed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. See details above. Just update world and it happens.

Expected Results:
it shoulda-- ah, you know.

I just did it again...

got the error for

- gnome/extra/gal-2.2.3 (masked by ~amd64 keyword)

as well.

The gal problem is reported as bug #77211 by me.

If you add the following lines to your "/etc/portage/package.keywords" file gnome will emerge:

gnome-extra/gal ~amd64
gnome-base/libgtop ~amd64
gnome-extra/gnome-utils ~amd64

Yeah but are they stable packages? I assume they're masked for a reason?

This got missed out somehow when I was stabilising GNOME 2.8 last night.

Fixed in CVS.
