Description Henrique Rodrigues 2005-01-07 10:46:39 UTC
When shuffle is checkboxed and a user chooses a new Artist, Album or All,
Rhythmbox will select the song from the top of the matching list, play it
before playing a random selection. Shouldn't it play a random song from the
selected category immediately?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Rhythmbox
2. Check "shuffle" at the lower left corner
3. double-click on "all" in artist or album list

Actual Results:
the first song on the list will be played

Expected Results:
a random song from the list should play instead

Comment 1 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-08 06:02:22 UTC
i had to read the report to even know what app this was about.

this should be filed upstream.
Comment 2 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-03 16:43:54 UTC
reporter: has this been fixed in later versions, or does this still need to be
reported upstream?
Comment 3 Henrique Rodrigues 2005-06-03 21:12:44 UTC
There hasn't been any later version, except for CVS, wich I haven't tried. I've
tried this on an Ubuntu GNU/Linux box and it behaves the same way. So I guess
this is a Rhythmbox issue (or "feature"). Maybe this bug should be closed for
now, until a new Rhythmbox version appears.
Comment 4 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-17 06:59:07 UTC
This has been reported upstream, and supposedly fixed in CVS.

Please attach a patch if you want this issue backported to 0.8.8 from CVS.
