There's a new version of xmule available : 1.9.5 Check: http://www.xmule.ws/ (... this should be one of the most productive versions of xMule yet, both in terms of added features, large performance increases, and the refactoring of the source code in general.) An update in portage would be keen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
The -O3 bug (that cause xmule to crash on startup) is still in there though. It is even documented in the INSTALL file that comes with the source. Isn't there a way to make an ebuild change a -O3 setting to -O2?
This version of xmule (don't tryed others) need crypto++ library to compile, crypto++-5.2.1 is installed on my system. It seems that it use wget at run time (for server.met download) btw work on ~x86 --- xmule-1.9.4b.ebuild 2004-11-04 00:10:45.000000000 +0100 +++ xmule-1.9.5.ebuild 2005-01-19 23:41:35.066009288 +0100 @@ -17,6 +17,7 @@ DEPEND=">=x11-libs/wxGTK-2.4.2-r2 nls? Created attachment 50816 [details] Xmule ebuild for 1.9.5 This ebuild is a copy of 1.9.4b with dependency for crypto++. Nothing else is changed. It now it's working right. Tested and working.
So... Why hasn't this been added to portage yet? 1.9.5 is more stable and functional than the current *stable* version: 1.8.4. Please at least add this to portage as soon as possible, as it has been THREE MONTHS and nothing.
1.10.0 just added to portage.
