Working without any problems for me, including shown test page. Check how you use your sound device. Please note that you have disabled almost any sound support due to USE="-jack -pulseaudio -screencast". I never tried alsa backend, I cannot help you with that.

No, USE=screencast only works with USE=wayland. But you are on X11 so you cannot use it. Please tell us how you configured your sound. Do you really use no pulseaudio?

The same problem, Firefox 88, but records successfully in Audacity :(
+1 here. In addition to a microphone not being detected, https://webrtc.github.io/samples/src/content/devices/input-output/ shows no audio output devices either for me (but a camera is detected properly). I guess that is because I have a custom "default" device override in /etc/asound.conf, but I didn't have time yet to dig deeper. Note that WebRTC audio output detection is a separate thing from normal media sound output (like on YouTube, etc.) - this is working fine.
Same with FF-89, emerge info attached. OK with Vivaldi snapshot 3.6.2165.32.

Yeah, most likely an alsa issue. Not much that can be done with ebuilds here.
Please, before... well, hastily closing this (and you should also explain *how* it WORKSFORYOU ^^) check this out: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1650131 The issue is still there with FF-114 (rapid) and is quite annoying -- of course, blame Mozilla for it: we should really make our voice heard over there. WORKSFORME because upstream has said they don't support alsa, and it was reported that the mic does work with pulseaudio. There's nothing that can be done currently in Gentoo to solve this, a workaround must be used. If you find a patch that makes alsa work again, that can be included of course. Going further I fear alsa support is becoming more and more broken to a point when pulseaudio/pipewire will be a forced dep.
