Description Alan Jackson 2005-01-05 19:01:09 UTC
I emerged glib 2.4.8 and then dillo-0.8.3-r3, and now dillo complains every time it opens an html file with :
GLib-WARNING **: g_printf_string_upper_bound(): unable to handle positional parameters (%n$)

GLib-WARNING **: g_printf_string_upper_bound(): unable to handle positional parameters (%n$)
debug_msg - init_sockdir: The socket directory /tmp/ajackson-43am5b exists and is OK

I thought it might be a dillo problem (and it still might) but I googled the error and it appears that this has been a problem in glib in the past.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. dillo foo.html
2.
3.

Actual Results:
$ dillo foo.html

GLib-WARNING **: g_printf_string_upper_bound(): unable to handle positional
parameters (%n$)

GLib-WARNING **: g_printf_string_upper_bound(): unable to handle positional
parameters (%n$)
Dpi_check_uds: Connection refused /tmp/ajackson-43am5b/dpid.srs
debug_msg - init_sockdir: The socket directory /tmp/ajackson-43am5b exists and is OK
dpid started
Capi_dpi_conn_timeout:: try 1
[file dpi]: (v.1) accepting connections...
[file dpi]: dpip_tag = '<dpi cmd='open_url' url='file:/home/ajackson/foo.html'>'

Expected Results:
Kept quiet

Do you still have this problem with dillo-0.8.4?
Comment 2 Alan Jackson 2005-01-21 18:28:04 UTC
sadly, no...
bash-2.05b$ dillo Acolytes.html

I cannot reproduce the bug. I tested dillo-0.8.4 with both
glib-2.6.1 (~x86) and glib-2.4.8 (x86). Would you submit
the output of `emerge --info`?

Comment 5 hiyuh 2006-10-09 09:51:39 UTC
It looks like a relic.
FYI, I cann't reproduce this bug on my ~ppc env
(dev-libs/glib-{1.12.10-r5,2.10.3}, www-client/dillo-0.8.5-r3).
And then -funroll-loops in global CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS is not recommended.
It makes only unclear what the problem is, IMHO.
Comment 6 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-04 15:36:00 UTC
Noone can reproduce this, closing.
