When you emerge an ebuild such as Xorg, postfix, etc that has a gdp guide for the package, the url for said guide should be output at the end of the ebuild's emerge. This could also be implemented as a use/features flag that would download and install the guide to a predetermined directory as html or a manpage. This feature would be useful as gentoo doesn't come with many distro-specific configurators and unless the upstream package includes such a tool, users usually end up reading the conf file's manpage or asking for help on the forums/irc. A lot of the time, the end result is a sub-optimal configuration that one needs to keep glancing at the manpage to edit. Thank you for your time. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
This should really be done per package that has documentation available. Hence, a specific bug for each package would be better.
