Description gagan 2005-01-05 15:52:47 UTC
When I start up X using the compiled gentoo-sources-2.4.26 for r13 and r14 my 3 button Logitech Serial mouse doesn't respond. The mouse responds fine in r8 so it isn't an X configuration problem. When I go to the console and type in
cat /dev/ttyS1
I can see the output when I move the mouse in both r13 and r14.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Compile gentoo-sources using the config file for r8
2.Emerge nvidia-kernel
3.Reboot system with the new kernel

Actual Results:
The gentoo login screen showed up but the mouse doesn't respond.

Expected Results:
As the mouse is moved the cursor on the screen should have moved accordingly.

The config file for gentoo-sources-2.4.26-r14
Comment 2 gagan 2005-01-06 20:09:12 UTC
After upgrading from XFree86 to XOrg and changing the protocol of the mouse from "Auto" to "Microsoft" the mouse started responding when I rebooted my machine with the r14 kernel.
