Description Frédéric COIFFIER 2005-01-05 07:22:32 UTC
After upgrading from kdepim-3.3.1 to kdepim-3.3.2, my address book in kabc and the passwords from the kmail account were lost

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade to kdepim-3.3.2
2. Launch kontact or kabc
3. The address list is empty and mailing lists are empty
4. With kmail, try to receive mail : the password is asked

Actual Results:
The address book is empty and kmail passwords are lost

Morevover, the data are still present in ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc

In fact, after the installation of kdepim-3.3.2, kmail doesn't more use kwallet to access my passwords (But other applications like kopete still use kwallet).
Is there a reason of this change of behaviour in kdepim-3.3.2 ? Is it possible to force kmail to use kwallet ?

kmail-3.3.x don't use kde wallet, it's only implemented in kde 3.4. Are you sure you weren't playing with some kde 3.4 alpha (now beta) code?

Yes, so sorry : I forgot I used a CVS version the last time as a previous kdepim version had a bug.

before this gets marked invalid, "me too" - however i did NOT use a cvs version of anything. i last used my kontact stuff about two weeks ago, i opened it up today and found it completely empty.

i went grepping through all my .kde* directories and found the data, now the question is, how to get it back into kontact?
