either 1.0.6629 or -r1 should be marked stable, as the older drivers cause MORE problems with stability and compatibility (esp with nforce3 etc chipsets) than the new ones do.

I will point out that making that other bug block this bug is silly.  The user in that case is one user with a somewhat *unusual* config who is having problems.  OTOH, 6111 causes problems for *lots* of users with *normal* configs.

nvidia-kernel, -glx and emul-linux-x86-nvidia 6629 (-r1 where possible) are all now stable.
