Hello Council, This bug is following up on our previous discussion regarding refreshing Group Contacts membership. As Tom (tomaw) from Freenode requested, I am filing this bug for a paper trail. Recall that this topic was brought up after a request by the Freenode team. I am asking you to approve removal of formal primary liason status from Jorge and assign it to myself. Currently, Jorge is not responsible for any communications activity in Gentoo that would make him appropriate for primary liaison (or indeed Group Contacts membership at all), namely: - He is not a comrel member - He is not an undertaker - He is not a recruiter As far as I am aware, the primary liaison status historically belongs to the ComRel lead / any member of ComRel or Recruiters. If the council for some reason has another preference for primary liason other than myself, please select a Council or ComRel member for that role to keep things running smoothly.
For what it's worth, I don't object or have opposed making Mikle the primary liason. You might also like to know that he never requested me to do that. However, I do object me being removed from Group Contacts - which was what he "requested" from me. About me not being on ComRel, Undertakers or Recruiters team, curiously at one point or another, I've been involved with all of them, as Mikle is the one responsible for me not being in ComRel, I find that argument "interesting". I learned from Tom that we might have more than 4 Group Contacts. In any case, as I told Mikle, if me being a Group Contact prevents those teams from having a Group Contact, I'm ready to step down. Otherwise, I believe I've done that work for so long and I feel without any complaints, that I don't see why I should be forced to remove that role. One last point, up until now, Mikle never talked with me about changes in Group Contacts, nor did I notice a "cry" for lack of coordination with Freenode.
