There is no ebuild for netdisco, nor is there a thread on it in the forum. I would like to request that an ebuild be developed for netdisco for future gentoo users. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Please look at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=1 and see if you can create an ebuild for it.
if someone will support this package, i will write an ebuild for it let me know
I don't know what you mean by "support" but I'll gladly help in any way I can. I have successfully installed NetDISCO on a FreeBSD system so I have a pretty good idea of what is needed.
i mean that there needs to be an official gentoo developer willing to do the cvs comits and such. i am not one, and there needs to be one
ok. dragonheart and netmon have seemingly taken over, but still want the ebuild. thats happy in any case, it might be awhile, because this one's difficult (for me at least). most of the install page (http://netdisco.org/install.html) asks for things that don't seem to exist when the dependencies are resolved by portage... sorry for the wait, but i will get it
Has there been any work on this? I'm trying to get netdisco installed, and there are a bunch of perl modules that are required. Installation isn't pretty. An ebuild would be nice... Thanks!
Reopen if you have an ebuild. Meanwhile, marking LATER.
