Description Rafal Dejewski 2005-01-02 08:55:21 UTC
Now when svga use flag is disabled than also vidix is disabled. May I ask to let vidix be enabled even when not using svga? I know that without svgalib_helper only root can use vidix video output. I just use vidix output sporadically and don't mind running it as root then. What I don't like is recbuilding mplayer after every kernel change.
Maybe introducing one more use flag 'vidix' would be a compromise?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.USE=-svga emerge mplayer

Actual Results:
mplayer vidix output method is disabled

Expected Results:
mplayer vidix output method should be enabled

I did this because , according to the MPlayer help docs, vidix output may work without svgalib, but for most users, it needs it. Thus said, I put vidix as dependant on svgalib as I know it will work more of the time than without it. If it works with you without svgalib, best I can do is offer to edit the ebuild manually.
