Description Kevin N. Carpenter 2002-09-08 03:29:28 UTC
Please create an emerge for the ELM Mail Reading package. Alas, I've been using
it for years, and miss it...

Thanks!

Kevin N. Carpenter

An ELM-ME+ (patch 100) ebuild is coming very soon. It will be in portage as
net-mail/elm as this is the only branch of ELM that appears to still be
maintained.

I will post on this bug as progress is made.

I have added the Elm(tm) Mail System General Public License to portage as
licenses/Elm.

I am working through the ./Configure script to make it non-interactive and set
by USE variables. Currently the ssl and spell USE variables are utilized.

Well... I am through the configure and compile stage... and now I am working
on the install portion. This is quite a headache... a little bit of sed
everywhere.... okay a lotta bit of sed everywhere.

The ebuild is being added to portage currently.
Sorry it has taken so long for this. In fact, in order to add this ebuild I had
to disable sandbox. (sowwy)
I got every section to install fine except for the lib portion because so much
of it is generated by programs that expect a hardcoded /usr/lib/* path.
As there was no way I could get around that, no matter how hard I tried, I
stripped out my LIB related ebulid code and just let the script do it's thing.
I know it's horrible but it's not going to overwrite anything important! I
promise!
By the time there is a new release I will have figured out some way,
or someone else will have figured out a way around it. :)

The package category is net-mail/elm
