during logon to the Belgium eid test site: https://iamapps.belgium.be/tma/?lang=nl following message is displayed on firefox.

An error occurred during a connection to certif.iamfas.belgium.be. A PKCS #11 module returned CKR_GENERAL_ERROR, indicating that an unrecoverable error has occurred.

with the previous version: app-crypt/eid-mw-4.4.27
everything is working ok.

When I released 5.0.8, I tested logon on eid test site and it had worked.

But, today, indeed, it no longer works.

Wait the upcoming 5.0.11 ebuild, this trouble should be fixed hopefully.

Don't forget 4.4.27 is still mainstream version on https://eid.belgium.be contrary to what the Fedict github repository itself and repology suggest.

Thanks anyway for the bug file

And a happy New Year.

Sorry for my previous post : my pcsc daemon was not started.

With pcsc daemon started properly, logon to eid test site works fine with eid-mw-5.0.8 for me

What is your pinentry configuration. What says :
# eselect pinentry list

Unlike eid-m-4.x.x, eid-mw-5.0.x uses pinentry for encoding your pin code during logon
Comment 4 Marc Debruyne 2021-01-02 15:25:38 UTC
localhost /home/marco # eselect pinentry list
Available pinentry binary implementations:
  [1] pinentry-gnome3
  [2] pinentry-qt
  [3] pinentry-gtk-2
  [4] pinentry-qt4
  [5] pinentry-curses *
  [6] pinentry-tty

You haven't seen ebuild warning ?

ewarn "The pinentry front-end currently selected is not supported by eid-mw."
ewarn "You may be prompted for your pin code in an inaccessible shell!!"
ewarn "Please select pinentry-gtk-2 as default pinentry provider:"
ewarn " # eselect pinentry set pinentry-gtk-2"

This eselect command above will solve your problem

Happy new year
