I have emerged predict 2.2.2. It doesn't seem to actually do anything other than display it's nice menus. Specifically, the man page says that if I run it with the -u option and a list of keplerian data files it will load those into its database and quit, without printing anything. But when I do this it brings me to the main menu just as if I had run the program with no options. From the main menu if I have it load keplerian data, it doesn't complain, but also does not display any sattelites to choose from the [P] menu option. Please run predict-update (as suggested after installation) as the user who will use predict to get the default satellite list. If you have trouble with other than the default data files, please attach a sample and re-open this bug. 2.2.2-r3 will have the default list in the right place (were packed as documentation before).
That works. I didn't follow those instructions because I emerged a number of programs and left and missed them.
