I suppose it would make more sense if you could actually see the generated password.

There is a checkbox (CTRL-p) just below the password generator to show passwords. If you check that box you will see generated passwords.

You mean the one saying 'use punctuation characters ...'?  Then it's a very non-obvious description.  It sounded to me as 'allow punctuation *inside* the password'.

I meant the View option to show passwords. See attachment.
