Description Maurice Volaski 2004-12-28 21:59:17 UTC
equery belongs program_file_name works ok

and so does

equery belongs /path/to/program_file_name also works ok

but mess up and say

equery files /path/to/program_file_name
and get a slew of spurious
!!! Invalid db entry.. messages

I tested this with the program file dig, part of bind-tools
equery belongs dig works ok
equery belongs /usr/bin/dig works ok
equery files /usr/bin/dig generates spurious invalid db entry messages
Comment 1 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-29 03:02:49 UTC
well, `equery files /path/to/file` is an invalid command.
Comment 2 Jonas Geiregat 2005-05-26 16:20:20 UTC
I think it would be interesting and useful to make this a valid command,
First let equery search which is the package this file belongs to, then list all
files belonging to that package ..
