could you update baselayout and nbd ebuild in that was that i can mount /usr or /var via nbd device? that includes: new nbd ebuild (all bins in /sbin and not like now in /usr/bin and /usr/sbin) a nbd-server init script that exports the blockdevices on a server a nbd-client script that connects to server and gets the devices all implemented in early boot process (i am now booting nfs-rootfs so network setup is alread done in boot runlevel, but that is not the default, so it (nbd-client) should run directly after net.eth0 and also mounts the fs. I know that conflicts with fs mounted via fstab in early boot runlevel whereas net.eth0 first runs in default runlevel ... but that is up to you ;-) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
i dont know of anyone who has done real filesystem mounts over nbd ... could you provide some patches against 1.11.x to implement this ?
sorry, cant help with baselayout. can contribute nbd ebuild (with new paths) and some templates for init.d scripts (server and client). Will send them when i
sorry, cant help with baselayout. can contribute nbd ebuild (with new paths) and some templates for init.d scripts (server and client). Will send them when i´ve tested them at home. Am running a diskless hard disk video recorder ;-) that sounds quaint but the recorder gets the hard disk via nbd.
no real interest at this time
