Hello, my friend did a great job with unification of different toolkit layout. I found there is no such package in gentoo. And also found requests in bugzilla (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56288) MetaTheme is a project dedicated to unification of appearance between different graphics toolkits, such as GTK and QT. The program is designed as a thin layer between toolkits and theme engines, creating unified API by which each theme engine can draw. The result is that every application uses the same code for drawing, making the appearance same cross different applications. MetaTheme also adjusts behaviour a bit, so the overall effect of unification is impressive. I suggest to make it available in x11-themes/metatheme, it depends to gtk2 or kde (also both together) and in 0.0.3 two themes are available throgh USE flag settings USE="plastik redmond". tested only with x86, but possibly works fine on other platforms. ales

Seems to work as expected on AMD64 I would mark it as ~amd64 coming into portage

Created attachment 69688 [details] metatheme-0.0.6.ebuild New version of metatheme including much better java support and an MSSTYLE loader (so you can use any Windows XP theme)

The kde dependancy seems to be not correct. The ebuild tries to emerge a lot of packages that are already installed. Probably because it depends on the metapackge kde but that doesn't work if someone has emerged kde base packages using split ebuilds.
Created attachment 97478 [details] metatheme-0.0.6-r1.ebuild A small update. This ebuild adds support for kde-meta package.
Created attachment 98344 [details] metatheme-0.0.6-r1.ebuild Well, in fact no dependencies like kde or kde-meta should be introduced. I think the proper way to handle this would be simply depending on kdelibs. Moreover, one doesn't need virtual/jdk in order to enable java support. virtual/jre is enough.
unseting CFLAGS? bad idea :/ few more things should be done, before commiting ebuild. if you want any help, jakub, just ping me on jabber : troll@chrome.pl Regards, Przemek
Yeah, but the bug reporter's name is Ales, not Jakub.
(In reply to comment #16) > Yeah, but the bug reporter's name is Ales, not Jakub. sorry - my mistake. today I had a really 'painfull' day ;) Cheers, Przemek
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. Upstream has disappeared and this requires obsolete software (Qt3/KDE3).
Just for the record it seems to be here now: https://github.com/Icenowy/metatheme https://github.com/Icenowy/metatheme-qt4 But it does seem to be dead indeed.
