Please stabilize.
We've split the OpenRC service scripts in this version, and synchronized the behavior and expectations with the systemd services and tmpfiles entries. This negatively affected at least one user: https://bugs.gentoo.org/744514 I've been talking with upstream about fixing these integration issues by e.g. compiling in the name of the user and the location of the PID file (@runstatedir@/<daemon>.pid), but it's not happening any time soon. They're in the process of dumping their entire build system, and adding Rust into the mix for some reason. So among other forthcoming headaches, my autotools patches that make things nice aren't going to be merged. I *did* update all of the Gentoo documentation on the wiki: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/ClamAV Everything still works exceptionally well (and securely) out-of-the-box as long as you haven't messed with your system users/groups in the past. The one last thing we could do is post a news item about the changes to the init scripts. Although at this point we could just send people to the wiki. It says everything that needs to be said.
