Description Tobias Sager 2004-12-28 04:14:15 UTC
From the announcement:

<snip>
This release merely fixes a few minor bugs and updates a few
translations. It will be the last regular release of the 1.2.x series
as this series will enter *end of life status on January 1, 2005*, after
which it will only be updated for security critical bugs. Please use
the stable 1.4.x series of GnuPG unless you have good reasons to keep
on using 1.2.x.

What's New
===========

Here is a list of major user visible changes since 1.2.6:

    * New "pgpgroup-to-gpggroup" script (in the tools directory) to
      convert from PGP 6 group syntax to GnuPG group syntax.

    * Translation update and minor bug fixes.

1.4.0 is currently added and masked. Please add it to /etc/portage/package.unmask and report any bugs. If it all checks out ok I'll unmask it and we won't need 1.2.7.
Comment 2 Tobias Sager 2004-12-28 23:39:08 UTC
Ok. I will upgrade to 1.4.

If 1.2.x will stay in portage (for the case that somebody does not want to upgrade), 1.2.7 should go in anyway.
If 1.2.x will disappear shortly from the tree, you could wontfix this bug.

gnupg-1.4.0 is currently unmasked. Still has unstable keywords - Hope its working for you.
Comment 4 Daniel Black (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-01 20:52:50 UTC
going to mark as "won't fix" until (if) gnupg-1.4.0 falls in a big ditch and becomes unworkable.
