(In reply to adrian.miriuta from comment #3) > Created attachment 676906 [details] > build.log >/usr/lib/portage/python3.7/phase-helpers.sh: line 563: 51 Aborted (core dumped) "${ECONF_SOURCE}/configure" "$@" This is deeply disturbing. It implies your Bash or similar is broken. - Have you done anything weird on this system recently? - Are you able to install gdb? - Can you install bash with debugging symbols? (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Debugging) (I think bash is the issue here?)
@Sam James I installed gdb. It is a fresh install (4 days old) sorry my first bug report on gentoo I am not used to it.

It is sad to read that you have problems with the software. The situation seems to be a bit more complicate and requires some analysis. We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. The bug tracker aims rather on specific problems in .ebuilds and less on individual systems. I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists [2,3]. I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels [4]. Please reopen the ticket in order to provide an indication for an specific error in an ebuild or any gentoo related product. @ Jonas Stein as I said this is a fresh install. I installed dozens of packages for the last 4 days This is the only one that breaks ! does this not mean there is a problem with the ebuild ? br adrian
@ all emerge --ask =dev-lang/jimtcl-0.78-r2 works br adrian
