this is the 3d init script oopsie i've found today :) somehow i had /etc/stunnel as clamav:root, so when i tried to /etc/init.d/stunnel start, it failed to create the .pid file in that directory due to permission errors. It stil said [OK] though, and it should have failed! I would also suggest someone check the behavior of this script if someone tries to bind to an IP that does not belong to any interface like 1.2.3.4:88 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Pidfiles should be written to /var/run/ which exist for that specific purpose. Writing things like pids and logs in /etc is not nice
I'm going to see if I can sort this out. I'm encountering some issues with the init script too.
Are you still having this problem?
