The last time I saw an official announcement from John McCutchan, he indicated the availability of inotify-0.15. Subsequently, Robert Love made some very nice cleanups (taking on-board advice from various people on LKML to improve the code). That last inclusive patch I saw from Robert was in the post mentioned in the URL (I'll attach that patch here for convenience, I believe it's 0.16 but could be wrong), which applies to 2.6.9 and 2.6.10. Also, I've just looked at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/rml/inotify/v2.6/ and there appears to be a v0.17! My reason for raising this bug/request is that things look a somwhat better than they did in the earlier versions and wondered if it might be an opportune time to give it a bump in the g-d-s patchset? If there is any interest in it then I'd be happy to perform any tests that might help to determine whether it works as well as the current incarnation.

inotify 0.16 is already planned to go into next 2.6.9 release (if we make any more) inotify 0.17 is already in our 2.6.10-prerelease patchset
