beep-media-player (BMP) was working but then stopped after updating other software. I don't know which software caused the problems. Now I cannot launch BMP - it fails to lauch. Full errors below.

Sorry for the delay, had to do some research as I can't reproduce the bug here.

This is most probably an incorrect skin being loaded.
If you emerged this with USE="gnome", you will want the gnome configuration editor to check out apps/bmp. Check that the skin directory mentioned there is valid, a good default would be /usr/share/bmp/Skins/Default

If that still has no effect you could try deleting the .bmp directory in your homedir, one or two forum users report deleting their entire gconf directory has resolved the issue but that seems a bit drastic.

I can not reproduce this problem. Please reopen if changing the theme does not fix this for you.
