When you type into the 'details' field that I'm typing into right now, the text automatically wraps, so nothing gives you a clue that bugzilla isn't going to bother to reformat your text. As a result, after the bug is submitted, all the text for a paragraph appears all on one line and you have to scroll horizontally to read it, making it incredibly difficult to read. I'm using Konqueror. Here's an example of where I'm seeing this problem: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75221 Note that this problem doesn't appear in Mozilla, so I'm going to report it as a bug to kde.org, but you guys may want to deal with this somehow also. Konqueror typically wraps things properly, so maybe something about the HTML being emitted by your bugzilla is confusing Konqueror. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
I reported this problem to Konqueror folks. According to them the "problem" is a result of normal behavior you're supposed to get when you use the <pre> tag. See this bugzilla discusson on their site: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95400 In other words, in their opinion, the bug is in your bugzilla, rather than in Konqueror. Either way, it's still a problem for the end user. Apparently, there's a CSS property called "pre-wrap" that should solve the problem, when the KHTML people get around to implementing it.
I get the same problem when viewing bugs with links during installation (which I have to do often :), and I can't even scroll to the right to see the remaining text - unless I've missed an option in links. I have an amd64 system for everyday use, but I try to keep up with ~amd64 on another partition. Thus I often get tripped up by some bug or other, and if I could view the existing bugs life would be a great deal easier. Clicking on "Format For Printing" doesn't wrap the lines either. Surely it should?
Deemed by the KDE people as a browser/bugzilla miscommunication. There is a wrap issue fixed in the CVS head of bugzilla, and will be shortly implemented.
very long line which is wrapped in new version of bugzilla even though i didnt wrap it in the comment field
