Description Masatomo Nakano (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-21 07:57:37 UTC
Hi recruiting team,

I recommend Shigehiro IDANI as translator follow-up(Japanese).
He has translated/reviewed a lot of documents, especially handbook, with me.

I'm not sure about becoming developer processes.
So, may I ask what he(or I) should do next?

I forgot to say something...

His email address is datam@anet.ne.jp
And of course, I will become his mentor.
Comment 2 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-21 08:44:20 UTC
Sorry, but we are not accepting any new devs at this current time.
Nakano, Please read your core mail.
Comment 3 Xavier Neys (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-21 09:11:00 UTC
Looks like I'm not the only one skipping most of -core ;-)
Recruitment has just been stalled but we can do the following and hope devrel can handle new doc devs soon enough.

FYI, Sven & I usually give the go for official dev status only after we have seen plenty of regular activity over a rather long period of time, then it's in the hands on devrel. As you mentioned he's been working with you for quite a while, it should not take long as far as we are concerned.
He'll then have to pass devrel's staff quiz when they are ready.

In the meantime, we can offer him a r/o access to cvs.g.o to help him getting updates and making patches. Just ask if you feel it can help.
I'd need his public DSA key and his nick (datam I suppose) and he should register it on irc.freenode.net (it's available).

BTW, We'll know him better if he could talk a bit on the g-doc mailing list and if he sent you his translations and patches via bugs.g.o

I hope we'll be able to give him a warm welcome very soon.

Hi again,

I've noticed about that. but I thought becoming doc developer might be different and we will restart it again later even if we don't accept all kinds of dev at the moment.

anyway, sorry if i bother to you.

Dear Jochen Maes,

Hello, my name is Shigehiro IDANI.
Nice to meet you.

Thank you for giving me chance to join Gentoo Developer.
So. I made answer of developer quiz and My mentor Nakano-san checked it.
I sent you(Jochen Maes) it by email at yesterday(Wed, 26 Jan 2005 01:51:41 +0900).

Please check my answer.

Sincerely,
Shigehiro IDANI(datam@anet.ne.jp)

Comment 9 Christian Heim (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-25 22:20:21 UTC
Dear Shigehiro,

Possible retirement pending as you haven't shown any activity few months
(according to bugzilla, the last one was 145610: 2006-09-05 07:38:10). If you are
just away, then please use the devaway system. Please be advised that
devaway may also be considered inactive if it extends past 60 days.

Please reply and advise on your situation. Any developer found to be
inactive for a period in excess of 60 days is subject to be retired. Please
be aware that if we have not heard from you within 2 weeks time, we will
begin the retirement process.
If we do retire you, it's pretty easy to come back when you are ready. Just
do the ebuild/end-quiz again and you're back on.

It's christmas (that is the 25th), thus assigning the remaining ones to infra.
