Description Perry Lu 2004-12-21 00:06:01 UTC
after upgrading to mozilla 1.7.5, other than left mouse key and scroll weel, scroll wheel click(which is to open a link in a new tab) and right mouse click(to bring up the action menu) stopped functioning on galeon, while they work perfectly on mozilla. after downgrading back to mozilla 1.7.3-r3, it went back to normal.

my galeon version is 1.3.18

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.upgrade mozilla to 1.7.5
2.click on middle mouse button and right mouse button

Actual Results:
nothing happens.

Expected Results:
function as expected.

I can confirm the same problems with Epiphany 1.4.6, and suggest that the "Summary" section be modified to reflect this fact. This has happened before with new Mozilla releases.
Comment 2 Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-21 02:30:09 UTC
for epiphany, you will need to sync(make sure you have epiphany-1.4.6 with the epiphany-1.4.6-moz-nsiurip.patch) and then recompile against moz-1.7.5. You could also wait until epiphany-1.4.7 hits the tree..which will be soon.

Same problem here. Middle and right mouse buttons no longer work as expected after upgrading Mozilla. I'm also having trouble rebuilding Galeon, which I assumed might fix the problem:

FilePicker.cpp:79: error: prototype for `nsresult
GFilePicker::Init(nsIDOMWindowInternal*, const PRUnichar*, short int)' does
not match any in class `GFilePicker'

... and the build aborts. I'll file a separate bug on that.

I emerged galeon-1.3.18 from gentoo unstable and it built OK. The mouse problem is fixed here.
Comment 5 Abdul-Wahid Paterson 2004-12-22 09:04:06 UTC
I had the same problem. I upgraded to Mozilla 1.7.5 and the right and middle mouse buttons stopped working. I then upgraded galeon to 1.3.18 and it fixed the problem.

I am using AMD64 not x86 platform.
Comment 6 Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2004-12-22 15:52:16 UTC
This is fixed by rebuilding galeon and has nothing to do with the version, so it's not really a bug, it's a known issue that with mozilla-updates, you have to rebuild mozilla-based browsers.
