Description Simon de Hartog 2004-12-20 12:19:26 UTC
Every time I configure a new gentoo system, I use "ufed" to set all my USE flags. These days, about 80% of the flags is useless to me, since they tune only one package which I'm never going to use. Would it be a possibility to move the Local USE Flags (flags for one specific package) to that single package, asking for it's setting when this package is installed?
It would greatly increase overview on USE flags and configuring them. So for short: if a package needs a setting which is package specific and not system-wide, ask this setting at install/upgrade, not in global USE flags.
I know this is a mission squared, but it would greatly improve the great idea of USE flags IMHO.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Run ufed and be dazzled :-)

i dont really see the bug here other than 'ufed sucks at handling local USE flags'

and as ufed development is dead this won't change.
