Since the offical unicon in portage does not work at all, GLC group made a working package for all CJK users. actually, i just tried again and it works now, but via this link http://www.magiclinux.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/gentoo/portage/app-i18n/unicon/ its been quite a while now, and the patches mentioned on their site is already in unicon's ebuild in portage.
