I've removed the mirror from rotation and notified GA Tech.

As far as I know there hasn't been a change.  It could be that I've been out of the 
loop for too long.  I'll have someone else take a look.  As far as I know, the timestamp.chk 
file under ::gentoo-portage/metadata should be within 30 minutes of current UTC time 
for the portage tree syncs.  I'm seeing times like this:

# rsync -avz rsync3.us.gentoo.org::gentoo-portage/metadata/timestamp.chk .

receiving file list ... done
timestamp.chk

wrote 135 bytes  read 1466 bytes  640.40 bytes/sec
total size is 32  speedup is 0.02

Looks like it its been fixed and no one has responded to this bug, so I'm closing FIXED.
