MySQL version 4.1.8 has been released as the new stable version of MySQL. There should be an ebuild for it.

I tried with the 4.1.7 ebuild, renamed to `mysql-4.1.8.ebuild`. This appears to compile and run correctly, and the ndb cluster system works well. All the patches for the previous version appeared to apply cleanly during merge.

When emerging mysql it complained that I have to run 'libtoolize --copy --force' because of different versions of libtool and ltmain.sh. Adding this row to ebuild solved the problem.
