The license is currently listed as X11 or GPL-2. From what I read on the net, the license is liberal but vague. The only thing that is certain is that copyright belongs to Mark Kilgard. I noticed that you have added these licenses in /media-libs/glut/glut-3.7-r2.ebuild version 1.4. Are you sure of these?
I'm inactive
i think the confusion stems from the fact that this ebuild actually installs Mesa3D-5.0, which is covered by a number of licences, including GPL, SGI, and MESA[1]. the GLUT library is copyright Mark Kilgard is not free software[2]. the COPYING file that ends up getting installed into /usr/share/doc/glut-3.7 is the license for Mesa and shouldn't be there. the actual license can be viewed here: http://bob.usuhs.mil/bid510/mol/glut-3.7.6/NOTICE [1] http://mesa3d.sourceforge.net/license.html [2] http://www.mathies.com/glfaq/GLToolkitFAQ.html#I
Fixed the LICENSE variable. We're moving toward freeglut so I'm not going to spend any more time on this.
