I wonder for some time why lilypond isn't in portage for the amd64 platform. I heve managed to compile it (v. 2.5.2) on my gentoo-box and seem to run it without many problems. I did need to install the pre-compiled ec-font-package with rpm. I just wanted this reported, as I heve looked for this info myself for quite some time before giving the compiling a shot. If I shouldn't have placed this here, I'm sorry. I would write a ebuild myself, if only I had some vague idea how to do that -- but I'm no dev. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.rpm -i --nodeps ec-fonts-mftraced-1.0.8-1.noarch.rpm 2.follow the instructions on the lilypond-site to compile lilypond 3.run lilypond :) Actual Results: Lilypond runs! Expected Results: Crash?
Oops, it's version 2.5.3 I installed, not 2.5.2.
thanks for that normally, we only make packages available that are tested on amd64. please also read http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/amd64/technotes.xml?part=1&chap=3.
This is keworded in Portage, resolving. If I'm missing the point, please reopen.
