samba 4.11.x depends on DES in mit-krb5 while joining a computer to a domain.
mit-krb5-1.18.2(already stable) has removed DES support which makes
net ads join partially fail.

samba 4.12.x has fixed this issue.

I'd like to see this, too, but for a different reason, namely improved performance.

I only use Samba as a file server, and have been running 4.12 on my home server for a few months already.  This week I decided to try it on my desktop, resulting in an order of magnitude improvement in encrypted transfer speeds (i.e., when using password protected shares).  Before the upgrade they were CPU-bound and maxed out at about 1.6 MB/s, whereas afterwards I instantly got >20 MB/s (on a gigabit ethernet LAN); I didn't check the CPU utilization, but I expect it shrunk quite a bit.  That kind of performance difference means a *massive* quality of life improvement for me.

Most likely due to the new liburing dependency
