emacs-cvs depends on dev-python/pexpect. According to bug 16949 this was done because the cvs eclass uses it, but I can't find pexpect in either the eclass, the ebuild or the emacs source, so I think this is not needed anymore. It also depends on gdbm. I can't find any "real" reference to that in the emacs source, the ebuild, or the installed emacs. I removed both deps, unmerged the packages, remerged emacs-cvs, and it seems to be working fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge emacs-cvs 2. 3. Actual Results: gdbm and pexpect are merged as dependencies, but not used. Expected Results: Not merged unnecessary things. Seems ok to me. Committed to CVS. If something breaks, please let me know.
