Description Henrik Friedrichsen 2004-12-11 15:19:24 UTC
When I'm trying to emerge Gaim, it had some weird dependancys.
It wanted QT to be installed ! I don't really think, that this is
normal, so I decided to write a Bug-Report. I also had some similiar
problems with the mozilla-firefox-bin and mozilla-firefox ebuilds.
The Binaries wanted too, that QT is installed, but the SRC ebuild not.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge gaim
Actual Results:
Read the details ...

Expected Results:
It shouldn't have emerged QT.

If anybody cares, my USE Flags:
USE="X gnome esd alsa gtk -oss -kde -qt"

Having a look at the dependency tree might reveal the problem. `emerge -ept gaim`
Comment 2 Henrik Friedrichsen 2004-12-12 00:35:21 UTC
Well, libao needs Arts and now the weird thing comes,
arts needs esound. I don't know if it is right, because
I've installed esound, so I think it just needs one of
those Soundservers ...
Comment 3 Henrik Friedrichsen 2004-12-12 00:48:57 UTC
Solved it through removing the arts dependancy in the libao ebuild.
So I think its corrupted (the libao ebuild).

put -arts into your USE if you dont want arts
