It looks to me that in code listing 5.1 "/etc/fstab" there is an extra space between /dev/cdroms and /cdrom0.  So I think line

/dev/cdroms /cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro 0 0

should read

/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro 0 0

I assume this will bite someone if they blindly copy and paste.
