attempts to unerase FAT stuff
Comment 1 kavol 2006-01-01 14:24:09 UTC
looks like this tool really works, I have succesfully restored photos from my cameras' compact-flash card ... so I vote for including ebuild too ;-)

but to run it on AMD64, it needs a patch ... I have found one here:

i'm assuming sleuthkit does the same thing.

please, consider reopening this bug

I am playing with autopsy/sleughkit for one hour now, and yet I haven't recovered a single file - this really is not adequate replacement
Comment 5 kavol 2008-02-06 19:36:19 UTC
so, after writing the comment, I tried to search the Gentoo resources ... and I came up with this:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-365703-start-0-postdays-0-postorder-asc-highlight-sleuthkit.html

oh well, so issuing at least four commands, manually editing the output, writing a custom script and running it using the edited file is the "same thing" like running a single program with two parameters?
