Just updated to portage-2.0.51-r8 and now I get this after every emerge command. --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~sys-devel/prelink --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~dev-util/gnustep-make --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~dev-util/gnustep-guile --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~dev-util/gnustep-gui --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~dev-util/gnustep-base --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~dev-util/gnustep-back --- Invalid atom in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages: ~media-video/cinelerra besides the syntax for '~' being wrong, it is the wrong mark here since these packages should be excluded from the profile, not included. Also, ntfsprogs and elfutils are listed as "sys-fs/ntfsprogs" and "dev-libs/elfutils" but they should be excluded as well.
provided you are running portage-2.0.51_rc5 or above, the package.mask file in gcc2 should now work for you. Please do let me know.
package.mask is good, but the invalid atom errors are still there because the entries weren't removed from portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/gcc2/packages
oops, sorry about that, I fixed the wrong file on my system (in real PORTDIR instead of my cvs dir). Fixed now.
