Description Gaute Hope 2004-12-03 06:23:59 UTC
When i do an emerge gnome-jabber, both versions in portage at this point. The paths are hardcoded in some way, try: strings gnome-jabber | grep '/var'

What should be /etc/ something becomes /var/tmp/portage/xxx//etc/

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge gnome-jabber
2. run gnome-jabber

Actual Results:
gnome-jabber fails to open because files are missing.

Expected Results:
gnome-jabber should start.

I do not find /var/tmp hardcoded in gnome-jabber 0.3 or 0.4. I did find /usr/local instead of /usr in the gconf schemas and I fixed that... and I marked 0.4 stable on x86.. which was long overdue
