Of course. Am I supposed to send a pull request which drops the old version and stabilizes the new one?

I'm asking, because the last time a not proxy maintainer has done it for this package and as far as I know there are some teams that handle that for different arches.

Please leave the stabilization to arch testers.  Once they're done and this bug is closed, feel free to submit a cleanup PR.
