Profile default-x86-2.0 (I know, testing, it's all my own fault)
emerge sync, emerge -up system gives readline-4.3, bash-2.05b and more.

After emerge readline, bash is complaining about the shared library and emerge
segfaults.

Well, a second attempt (to catch the error messages) of emerge bash finishes
succesfully... I will attach the file

Here the emerge errors. The first attempt failed with segfault. This attempt
finishes succesfully and it seems that bash-2.05b is working fine now.

yeah, this was unmasked prematurely.  sorry about that.  the new bash-2.05b
ebuild will be much cleaner.
