When emerging avidemux 2.0.34_rc1-r1 in the autoconfig it does not see mmx mmx2 and sse support which my processor (Amd Athlon XP 1600+) has. Avidemux-2.0.34_rc1 did find these features. So what changed to have this effect? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Emerging avidemux 2. Building mpeg file to make a VCD 3. Does not report using mmx, mmx2 sse etc, and is very slow only 8 fps in stead of 30+ as with the former version Actual Results: see steps Expected Results: Avidemux using processor acceleration mmx mmx2 and sse ortage 2.0.51-r3 (default-linux/x86/2004.0, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.9-win4lin-r1 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.9-win4lin-r1 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1600+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r5 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 Binutils: sys-devel/binutils-2.15.90.0.1.1-r3 Headers: sys-kernel/linux26-headers-2.6.8.1 Libtools: sys-devel/libtool-1.5.2-r7 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirror.scarlet-internet.nl/pub/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.gentoo.mesh-solutions.com/gentoo/ http://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/download/gentoo-mirror/ http://mirror.datapipe.net/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow 3dnowex Gtk X Xaw3d alsa apm arts artswrappersuid avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bonobo cdparanoia cdr crypt cups doc dvd dvdr encode esd f77 fam flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile imagemagick imlib java javascript jpeg kde ldap libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx mmx2 motif mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pda pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline samba scanner sdk sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype usb x86 xine xml xml2 xmms xprint xv xvid zlib"
Ok, as 2.0.34_rc2 is out and taht ebuild has the appropriate changes to let autodetection toggle the use of mmx if not explicitly disabled, I won't fix rc1 anymore. Please test rc2 and open a new bug if needed. Thanks for the report! Cheers, Marc.
